3 Sweet Mom & Daughter Moments with Sofia
Mother’s Day is coming up, and it always makes me reflect on the little traditions and moments that make motherhood so special. Honestly, we don’t need a holiday to celebrate motherhood—I think we should celebrate it every single day! Raising Sofia has been the most beautiful (and chaotic) journey, and I love finding ways to make memories together. Whether it’s a simple morning routine or a fun weekend activity, these small moments are what I’ll remember forever.
So today, I’m sharing three of our favorite mom-and-daughter moments—little traditions that make our bond even stronger.
1. A Little Perfume for My Mini-Me
Sofia is at that age where she loves watching me get ready—whether I’m putting on a little makeup, fixing my hair, or spritzing on some perfume. She’s so curious and always wants to be just like mommy. So, I started a little tradition where I give her a tiny dab of perfume on her wrist (a super light one, of course!). She gets the biggest smile, sniffs her wrist, and says, “Mmm, pretty!” It’s such a small but sweet moment that makes her feel included.
I recently picked up a gorgeous floral scent, Amazing Grace by Philosophy. She now calls it her “princess perfume,” and every time we do this little routine, it reminds me just how much she looks up to me.
2. Arts & Crafts (AKA Controlled Chaos)
If there’s one thing Sofia loves, it’s making a mess in the name of creativity. We’re big on arts and crafts around here, and I make sure we always have plenty of washable supplies (because, let’s be honest, toddlers + paint = disaster waiting to happen).
One of her favorite things right now is drawing on our craft paper roll. She goes all in—crayons, markers, stickers—you name it. I love watching her little imagination at work, and honestly, I get just as into it. Sometimes we end up making a whole afternoon out of it, covering the paper with doodles and little stories. The best part? Seeing her proudly show off her “masterpieces” and tape them to the fridge like they belong in an art gallery.
3. Sunday Morning Baking Traditions
Ever since Sofia could stand on her little stool, she’s been my tiny sous chef. We have a Sunday morning tradition of making French Toast together. She “helps” by stirring the batter (which usually means spilling half of it), and her favorite part is taste-testing everything.
I love that baking with her teaches patience and creativity, but more than anything, it’s just a fun way to bond. There’s something about those cozy Sunday mornings in the kitchen, flour everywhere, giggles filling the air, and her little hands reaching up to “help” that make my heart so full.
It’s these simple, everyday moments that make motherhood so sweet. No matter how busy life gets, I always want to make time for little traditions with Sofia—because these are the moments we’ll both cherish forever.
Do you have any special mom-and-daughter traditions? I’d love to hear about them!
